Privacy Overview

Tuneo is designed with privacy at its core. As an offline music player, Tuneo does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from the app itself. All your music files, playlists, and preferences remain exclusively on your device. However, when using optional pro features that involve third-party services (like Dropbox integration), some data may be processed by those services as described below.

Pro Features & In-App Purchases

Tuneo offers premium features available through in-app purchases on iOS devices:

  • Sleep Timer: Automatically stops music after a set duration
  • Theme Selection: Customize your app's appearance with multiple themes
  • Last.fm Scrobbling: Automatically track your music listening to Last.fm

In-app purchase transactions are processed by Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's privacy policy. Tuneo does NOT collect or store any payment information.

Data Collection by Tuneo

Tuneo itself does NOT collect any personal information, including:

  • Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
  • Music listening habits or preferences
  • Device information or usage analytics
  • Location data
  • Contact information
  • In-app purchase history (handled by Apple)

Last.fm Scrobbling (Pro Feature)

When you choose to use Last.fm scrobbling, you will provide your Last.fm username and password for authentication. This integration allows you to:

  • Automatically track your music listening on Last.fm
  • Build your listening history and statistics
  • Share your music taste with the Last.fm community

Important: Your Last.fm password is NOT stored in Tuneo. Authentication is handled securely between your device and Last.fm servers.

User Control: You have complete control over this integration. You can disconnect at any time through Tuneo's settings page, or revoke access to Tuneo at any time through your Last.fm connected apps settings.

Local Data Storage

All data generated by Tuneo is stored locally on your device:

  • Music files in the dedicated TuneoMusic folder
  • Custom playlists and favorites
  • App preferences and settings (including theme selection)
  • Custom cover artwork
  • Sleep timer configurations
  • Pro feature activation status (linked to your Apple ID)

Pro Feature Validation: Pro feature activation is linked to your Apple ID purchase receipt.Tuneo does NOT store or process this data beyond local validation.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to use Last.fm scrobbling (pro feature, requires internet connection).

Internet Connectivity

Tuneo's core features function completely offline and do not require internet connectivity. However, the following pro features require internet access:

  • Last.fm Scrobbling: For tracking your music listening
  • In-App Purchases: For purchasing and restoring pro features

When offline, all purchased pro features (sleep timer, themes) continue to work normally. Only cloud-related features require connectivity.

Third-Party Services

Tuneo integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Apple App Store: For in-app purchase processing and receipt validation
  • Last.fm (Optional): For music scrobbling and listening history

We do NOT integrate with any analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Your Last.fm credentials are handled securely and your passwords are never stored by Tuneo.

Data Sharing & Disclosure

Tuneo does NOT share, sell, or disclose your personal data to third parties, except:

  • When you explicitly authorize Last.fm access for scrobbling
  • As required by law or legal process
  • To protect our rights, property, or safety

Any data shared with Last.fm is limited to your music listening activity and is governed by Last.fm's privacy policy.

Data Control

You have complete control over your data:

  • Manage music files directly through iOS Files app
  • Use "Clear App Data" to reset without losing music files
  • Uninstall the app to remove all associated data
